Hello blog,
I'm pleased to be able to write here today, that I have finally beat teh monster known as 'duplicate stitch'. I consider my completed snowflake as a solid victory.
( I did this while listening to chasing the bard. When they say "not appropriate for the office, we recommend wearing earbuds" consider yourself warned.... )
Once I finish doing the duplicate stitch on this glove, I think I'll finally be able to return to Hey Teach ;)

Duplicate woes
So it's been awhile since I mentioned this swatch :
I thought I had the duplicate stitch thing all figured out. I mean, sure, it was a little ratty, but I did it while watching TV, so the real deal was bound to turn out better, right?
Wrong. OK, maybe I'm jumping the gun here, but this looks like crap. I'm going to take it out and re-do it, but first I'm trying to figure out just what the heck I'm doing wrong. I'm using this tutorial as my guide, and as far as I can tell I'm doing it right..... (except that some people claim that my stitches are twisted, no-one can tell me how to fix that, )
Gack. I'm knitting another swatch, will update later. If you spot some glaringly obvious thing that I'm doing wrong, by all means PLEASE speak up @__@

Movies at Midnight
Wow. So I just realize that this post was never finished and that FO photos have yet to be uploaded. Whoops! Life goes on even when it's not being carefully documented :) here they are at last!
I cast off at exactly 7:36, plenty of time to make it to the midnight showing!
Um, what else? how 'bout some FO stats?
Pattern : Dark Mark Illusion scarf
Needles : US 6
Yarn : (1) Red heart designer sport in Brown, and (1) bernett softee baby in aqua
BTW, the bernett softee is pretty flimsy IMHO. It's a little splitty and lifeless, so despite the very good color selection I doubt I'll be using it again. Sigh. I know, nice acrylic is hard to find. Shocker :)

Dark Mark Scarf Update #3
I have just four days and a little over 90 rows left in order to finish this scarf in time. It's going to be a close one, especially since my summer class starts on monday, so that'll eat up some of my available time. (But I couldn't be happier to be returning to class )
In addition to working on this scarf I've been reviewing my Kanji, thoroughly cleaning my room, and listening to a new audio book called the 7th son. It's one of the best books I've read in a while, it's highly recommended!
Until next time! ^__^
