Dear Blog,
Lately I felt as if I have an ungodly number of works in progress - 7 at current count - for me that's not even an abnormal number, but it just suddenly feels so humongous and daunting. I feel as if there is no way I could ever possibly finish them all, and I'm starting to feel frustrated and impatient. Normally I'm a 'process' knitter which means that I just enjoy knitting for the sake of knitting - the finished object is just a neat bonus. But lately I've been the opposite. I just want things DONE.
So now I'm focusing on one project at a time, trying to knock each one out in turn. I'm focusing mostly the star blanket - not pictured, it's just a blob of blue and white ;) -
Trying to finish it so I can check it off the list and move on down the line. That saying, since I finished the Tenta Cowl a few weeks ago, I have ben woefully without a lace project, so I started a new one -___-;;
I know! What was I thinking? But I bought this yarn, specifically for this pattern last year during the Atlanta Shop Hop, and I've been dreaming about casting it on for MONTHS. I finally caved. The Pattern is Ictis by boo knits. The yarn is DIK Wisp in the Shy colorway.
Cheers! Don't forget to visit Tami's for more WIPs :)

Sabrina's Sample
Hello Blog,
Today I have a bit of a spinning FO. 1.8 ounces spun up into approximately 190 yards of 'fingering weight' yarn. 19 WPI.

Not sure what the fiber was, all I know is that it came from Maryland Sheep and Wool from what seems like 100 years ago. It's probably Merino though. Staple length is relatively short compared to what I'm used to spinning.
Spun this as a single all on one bobbin and then chain plied it to get a three ply. Seems like light fingering/heavy lace weight to me. Ish. It blows my mind how imprecise those definitions can really be.
Spun this up for my sister. Not sure what she will do with it, but I hope she likes it :)
As always, check out more FOs at Tami's.

WIP Little Star
Hello Blog!
Progress is continuing on my Beth's Little Star blanket. I took a break on it last week after making a mistake in the pattern, but I've recovered now and am back on track. I don't have any plan at all about the stripes, I'm just doing them randomly as I go along :)
I Also may have ordered some yarn from ESK recently, I check my mail eagerly each day waiting for the order to arrive ^^;;
As always, check out Tami's for more WIPS.
Also, sorry for the delay in my podcast. I'll record a new one soon I swear ^^;;

FO: Shaelyn
Hello everyone! How are you? I'm good. Today was actually kind of warm. Warm enough that my hands/face didn't feel like they were going to freeze off during my walk from the parking lot to my classroom, but still cold enough to need my coat. Can't wait till summer!
My FO today is a lace shawl knit in fingering weight yarn - Malabrigo sock to be exact. I'm really going to need some warmer weather before I can wear it :)

The pattern is Shaelyn by Leila Raabe, and I LOVE it! It's pretty much got all of my favorite design elements for lace :
- Triangle Shaped
- Lacy Bits
- Garter Stitch Bits
- Easy to Memorize/ not very many pattern rows
- FAST TO KNIT
Start to finish, this took me two weeks to knit. That's fantastically fast for me :)
I already have plans to knit a second one!
Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to check out Tami's for more FOs!

WIP Tenta Cowl
Hello everyone! Welcome, Thanks for visiting :)
It has been awhile, haven't been posting regularly. Something about the end of the year and winter and all this dark cold weather. Ick!
Anyway, I'm currently participating in an MKAL by Lily Go, The Tenta Cowl, so if you don't want spoilers, avert your eyes!
A Friend of mine told me about this MKAL back in December, and the absolute first thing that popped into my mind was "Tentacool???" 0.0
Yup. I'm that nerd.
I already had some dark blue yarn (Fat Squirrel Fibers! ) and I knew I just HAD to knit this cowl with blue yarn + red beads. It's darker even than tentacruel, but I'm ok with that. The visual connection is still pretty strong and it makes me HAPPY.
The 3rd clue came out last week, and I just couldn't keep up. I've had a bit of a cold and have been sleeping through most of my 'free time'. Finally managed to catch up today though. Only one clue left! I can't wait to finish and wear this thing :)
As always, check out Tami's for more WIPS!

A Year in Review 2013
I finished a total of 20 projects in 2013!
3 of them were Crocheted.
I frogged 2 projects.
I have 4 WIPS that are rolling over into 2014 and one pesky WIP still left over from 2012!
My main knitting resolution for 2013 was to knit lots of lace. I did! I finished five lace shawls last year:
Damask
Los Lirios
Crooked Cathedral
Bramble
Juneberry
My knitting resolution for 2014... Sweaters that fit AND are not too itchy to wear! We'll see what happens :)
I also hit spinning hard this past year. I bought a spinning wheel and spun almost 2 pounds of fiber. Pretty proud of my progress so far.
What are your knitting goals for this year?
